Actually, I recently tried to buy a domain. Exactly as you said, I thought why not I buy it for one year and renew it later. But this is really good factor. If I might have been an SE, I might have done the same thing too. Why shouldn't they take it as a factor! they can.

I have put a small new and important fatcor into my brain now. This was really new to me. Thanks for that.

i like buying it weekly then monthly. i find it easier. and it is also useful as you will not forget when the money goes out in years and months

...domain registration only comes in yearly registration periods..you don't have a choice to do it monthly or weekly...

Well, i prefer yearly renewal rather than few year in a package. If the domain site that i am working not going well, i can just let it expired without renewing or sell it to others who want interested to purchase it. Futhermore it helps me to choose better domain registrar, if i am not happy with the existing one.

How does yearly registration help with that? Even if you register a domain for several years, you can still change the registrar. Your domain only needs to be 60 days old on the current registrar to shift the registrar.
