Building backlinks to XML Sitemap
Everyone knows that blog commenting is the best way to gain back links and consequently gain Page rank. The flexibility of blog commenting is that you are free to target your home page as well as deep links. You can put a link (and probably anchor it) to your homepage and get back links there or link to a sub-page and get links there too.
My question:
What if we give the link of the site map of a website when commenting on blogs?
Will your back links increase?
Will your PR increase?
On what page will the PR increase be visible, if there is an increase in PR?

Re: Building backlinks to XML Sitemap
Why would they increase? There's no logic in that, mate. You're still linking to a single resource of your site.
The only benefit of linking to your sitemap I can think of is that spiders would follow each link and find your sitemap, and then they'd crawl all pages in it. This, however, should not cause any effects on your rankings (SERP, PageRank) because they don't really need you to guide them to where you sitemap is - they can find it if it's placed in the root of your site.
So, IMHO, can anyone get a benefit out of this? Nope.
P.S.: I might be wrong. If anyone can provide a better answer, I'm willing to read it!

Re: Building backlinks to XML Sitemap
link isn't relevant to your web directory and therefor will not be counted
