Yes, flash is quite useful for web design and marketing perspectives. But someone said true that it someway hurts your seo efforts. But, now it doesn't do more. SEO can be carried out without much problem.

1. It slows down your website, 2. Its not good for SEO.
I would avoid using flash for sure.

Yes,
It is right previously.But Google now crawls internal links in flash header.So it will not affect your search engine ranking now.

Yes, the reason is that search engine could not read any thing from flash or swf file. So your site will not be able to include in search result.
